  12. It's just been announced that the Schwarzkopf JET STAR
  13. steel coaster is currently being dismantled from
  14. Knoebels Amusement Resort!!  Appartenly, Dick Knoebel
  15. has used the ride as a "Trade in" with Vekoma.

  17. Knoebels will debut the Vekoma WHIRLWIND (std corkscrew
  18. model steel coaster) in place of the JET STAR in 1993!
  19. The WHIRLWIND was sold back to Vekoma from Rye Playland
  20. to make room for a new attraction at that park.

  22. Funny, Dick Knoebel mentioned being  interested in that
  23. stupid Vekoma corkscrew over a year ago, and many 
  24. coaster enthusiasts told him it would be a bad investment,
  25. since the ride is SUCH a dog!!  For $2 million, an SDC
  26. WINDSTORM coaster was suggested as an alternative.  I guess
  27. the price tag is what sold Dick on the WHIRLWIND.
