- It's just been announced that the Schwarzkopf JET STAR
- steel coaster is currently being dismantled from
- Knoebels Amusement Resort!! Appartenly, Dick Knoebel
- has used the ride as a "Trade in" with Vekoma.
-
- Knoebels will debut the Vekoma WHIRLWIND (std corkscrew
- model steel coaster) in place of the JET STAR in 1993!
- The WHIRLWIND was sold back to Vekoma from Rye Playland
- to make room for a new attraction at that park.
-
- Funny, Dick Knoebel mentioned being interested in that
- stupid Vekoma corkscrew over a year ago, and many
- coaster enthusiasts told him it would be a bad investment,
- since the ride is SUCH a dog!! For $2 million, an SDC
- WINDSTORM coaster was suggested as an alternative. I guess
- the price tag is what sold Dick on the WHIRLWIND.
