  32. My current apartment has peepholes, which I use.

  34. My dad did one better.  Our front door is now a beautiful and *heavy*
  35. (250lbs+) wrought iron openwork design.  He put me in charge of putting the
  36. glass in it.  I bought bullet-resistant glass for it.

  38. Now, I can walk right up to the outer door, and look through the glass and
  39. see the entire scene, without endangering myself or my parents' house.

  41. This is straying from the charter - mebbe we should get back to tactics of
  42. answering the door if you *are* armed.  Rule #1: Have a gun!
