- The 9mm is a fair bit shorter than either the .38 or the .357, is a
- rimless case (and needs space between the cylinder and the frame
- for the full/half-moon clip), and, more importantly, has a fairly
- pronounced taper to it (relative to the straight walled .38/.357).
- I don't think the length of the round is the real issue here...
