- Hi all,
- I'm looking for a very low cost m14/m1a reciever.
- I want to get the seriel numbered part while it's legal, and
- invest the $'s building it (them) up over time.
-
- Now here are the questions:
- 1) Who makes single lugged recievers, and about how much, and
- 2) who makes double lugged recievers, and about how much, and
- what is involved in adding a lug to a reciever? Where is this
- second lug located, at the front or the rear of the reciever?
-
- The advantage to the double lugged recievers is supposidly that
- the bedding job lasts about twice as long, ie about as long
- as the barrel does, where normally the bedding has to be redone
- about every 1500 rounds (vs about 2500-3000 round barrel life).
- (this is for match shooting, not just service shooting....)
-
- I do want a quality part, ie forged, not cast, and GI parts compatable.
- I've heard that the Norinco recievers require modified/different parts,
- is this true? What about the quality of the recievers?
-
- -Thanks
