- Massad Ayoob recommends that when you are covering someone who *MIGHT*
- have a weapon, your point of aim should be at the waist or the pelvic
- area. Most important reason is that your gun won't block your view of his
- hands. Additionally, it might have some extra intimidating effect.

- If the perp. produces a contact weapon and charges, Ayoob recommends
- you shoot for the pelvic area, the theory being that will have a
- better chance of dropping him. With a contact weapon, if perp. can't
- reach you he can't hurt you. If perp. produces a firearm, you need
- to shift your aim back up to center of mass.
