- #Natchez is closing out their line of AMSEC safes at prices about 15-20%
- #lower than Whitesides's prices. I'm looking at the 6030 and 6032 models.

- I called up Natchez and did some figuring on the AMSEC safes
- vs. the ones sold locally. What I found was that they are as
- good a deal as (for instance) the lower price models of the Ft.
- Knox line. The AMSEC model at $515 plus the interior I selected,
- plus the freight to southern NH, plus the drop ship fee to a residence
- of $30 plus the credit card fee of $3.50 was about the same as the
- similar Ft. Knox model (on sale at Riley's in Hooksett NH). The two
- differences: The price (slightly higher for the Ft. Knox) included
- my being able to see the safe before buying and the safe being in my
- house where I wanted it vs. in the garage.
-
- Is AMSEC staying in business? Anyway, I got the Ft. Knox instead,
- but it was on sale. The full retail on the Brownings, Ft. Knox,
- Treadlocks etc. is way more than you should pay - shop around.
