  19.     I am no expert in this area. I am also not a machinist or
  20. gunsmith. But, I do have a U.S. Marine Corps Technical Manual 
  21. (TM 05538c-23&P/2), "Organizational and Intermediate Maintenance
  22. (Including Repair Parts and Special Tools List)".

  24.     There is a chapter "Intermediate Maintenace Instructions". On
  25. Page 3-56 in my manual it discusses the lower receiver - just the case
  26. not the guts. Amazingly, it explains how to fill corrosion pits. It
  27. says that corrosion through the receiver is non repairable. The pivot
  28. pin lugs seem to be the Achilles heal. If they are corroded or widened,
  29. the lower receiver is junk.

  31.     Also the hammer pin holes and trigger pin holes can become
  32. enlarged also making the unit unserviceable.

  34.     There seems to be no discussion on breakage or wear of the
  35. internal moving parts. But I suppose they are self evident and not
  36. something that needs special checking.
