  27. The local folk dancing group here in Santa Cruz does not take political
  28. positions, nor is there any person who could be pointed to as a spokesman
  29. or leader of the group.  I have noticed that over the past few months, the
  30. number of requests for any Greek dances has dwindled to nothing, and none
  31. have been taught.  Over half the evening is spent on Macedonian and
  32. Bulgarian dances.  I haven't seen a Syrtos since the Greek Festival a few
  33. months ago.  I think that this is an interesting, unconscious effect on the
  34. part of those who attend.

  36. At the Greek Festival, we did a Sa to the Syrtos tunes.  After all, people
  37. in Northern Greece would.
