- Additional dance hall requirements ...
- 4) The acoustics should be reasonable. Some halls have corners in which
- even the callers with the clearest enunciation can be heard saying,
- "Allemand shplt your shplner."
-
- 5) Pillars (to support the roof? to annoy dancers?) are not a good idea.
-
- 6) If large amounts of furniture must be taken down before the dance
- and set up afterwards, the dedication of the volunteers who perform
- that labor must be enormous. If the first dancers to arrive always
- get drafted as "volunteers" then maybe some day there just won't be
- any "first" dancers.

- When hunting for a hall and considering the possibility of asking to
- use a church's facilities, remember that although some religions frown
- on dancing and would -never- allow it in their church buildings,
- others almost seem to think it could qualify as a sacrement. It is my
- impression that many Unitarian churches fall into the latter category.
- Unfortunately, most of the church space available for dancing seems to
- have pillars.
