- ANYTHING which is fun to do CAN be interesting to watch. The problem
- is that most display sides that I know/have seen tend to concentrate
- more on style/technique than on having fun - the result is only
- slightly more interesting than watching synchronised swimming or
- kettles boiling.
-
- A group of people I know often meet at a pub and dance (Irish Sets,
- Morris, ...) in the street outside for our own enjoyment - and the
- bemusement of passers by. We have a good time, and noone has ever
- called the police to complain of the noise or obstructions.
-
- A successful format I have come across for demonstrating the fun of
- <your favourite dance form here> is a "demo" by "experts" followed by
- the experts grabbing people from the "spectators" and doing it again
- (perhaps slower or less intricate). But you do need reasonably captive
- spectators or they will drift away rather than submit to public
- embarassment.
