  16.   A friend of mine keeps an awl and thread in his pack ( for emergency
  17.    repairs of packs, etc ). He got fed up with the same problem,
  18.    sat down one evening and stitched one side of the tongue to 
  19.    the boot. It only took a stitch or two. The tongue no longer slides
  20.    away and the stitches are not noticeable.
