- That is correct. But, as I am constantly pointing out to non-US
- readers of this newsgroup, this sort of thing is not anything the
- federal government *should* be involved with; this is the domain of the
- states. And, in fact, most states do have annual vehicle inspections,
- many of which include emissions tests (though the areas subject to
- emissions testing are often dictated by the federal Clean Air law).
