- I have a 1990 PRotege, not a minivan, but I guess I can comment on
- durability and quality:
-
- Very poor, would not have expected it of a japanese car (and this one
- was actually built in Japan)
-
- Rattles. Squeaks (memories of vintage 70's Detroit rattletraps)
- Interior materials aged supersonically fast and
- looked very tired almost immediately. Paint cheap
- and ridiculously thin -- scratches (to the primer coat!) if you touch
- it (hardly exaggerating) THe comment on the paint seems to be
- endemic with Mazdas, was just talking the other day with another Mazda owner
- and he said the same thing.
-
- I doubt I'll buy a Mazda again. Buy the Toyota minivan (my previosu car
- was a Toyota, solid as a tank)
-
- Oh, I should say the car is nicer than most to drive (certainly way
- better than the aforementioned Toyota) and have had
- no mechanical problems (save for having to replace the thermostat. . .)
