- part of that information may be due to the *fact* that Ford is a substantial
- shareholder in Cummins, Ford was quite upset that they were prevented from
- acquiring the 6BT-5.9 (or B5.9-160, as it now may be known) engine for their
- pickups by the fact they had contractual obligations to Navistar in 1989-ish
- timeframe. I would not be surprised to see Ford *not* renew the contract with
- Navistar when it comes due. my source for the above is conversation at Cummins
- Intermountain, Las Vegas, NV in April 1991.
