-
- Yes, 15K is a LOT of money, depending on your income. You can guess mine,
- Mr. Rinehart.
-
- >Fourth, Mr. Lee's post was to-the-point and asked a valid question.
- >Why you should start off by saying *I should slap Mr. Lee for this* is

-
- I apologize if I've overstepped myself, but I was being flippant.
- I rarely use smileys; my words do the talking for me. Mr. Pak
- can verify this, can't he?
-
- Actually, I like reading this group. I like reading car magazines.
- I like their editorial style, a style that usually accrues to a
- more or less mature product in a mature industry. It's the same
- style used by audiophile magazines. (i.e. writing = airheaded,
- flippant, and fuzzy; the numbers being just a side show; ever wonder
- why Motor Trend never includes these comparison stats? cost of insurance,
- cost of parts, crash test results, etc. [just too boring, that's why])
-
- Yes. Folks. The automobile is a mature product that has yearly
- incremental improvements that are must less than the yearly improvements
- of newer industries like microprocessors.
-
- If you don't write like you are addressing someone with an addiction
- to words "Precision Crafted Performance", then this boring industry just ain't
- so interesting. So, expect commentary like "lean mean speeding machine"
- in Motor Trend, Road & Track, etc.
-
- Expect my posts to be of the same calibur. This is, after all,
- rec.AUTOS.
-
- > Therefore, your comment was
- >totally inappropriate. Chill and get a perspective on reality before
- >you post again, else I may be forced to seek you out and slap YOU
- >around.
-
- To shay. Reality? _Really_. Nead you ask, Mr. Rinehart?
-
- Again, my opinion is "buy American", with American being defined to
- include made-in-USA "Japanese" cars. They are generally still better
- designed than the "real" American cars.
-
- Reality tells me that the money channeled to the American worker
- will somehow come back in the form of a purchase of a product
- at a company that I might work for. So really, I'm paying for my
- dinner, my house, etc. And I'd much prefer that over being homeless
- and hungry like thousands of layed off auto workers. Remember.
- It's _your_ United States of America.
-
- (I am not pro-Japanese. I'm also not anti-Japanese. At least, none
- of my posts should lead you to think otherwise. I encourage competition;
- that's why I include vehicles like made-in-USA "Japanese" cars in the
- all-around theme of "buy American".)
-
- However, if you are deadset on buying a Japanese car, then buy
- Hondas (and Acuras) made over there. Hondas are solid, no rattle,
- durable vehicles. They are as solid as, well, an Integra Integra.
- Eh, Teddy?
