- Some of these are a bit weird (i.e. cars without air bags should be considered
- "unsafe". This would label as unsafe 90% of the cars on the road today,
- which in some sense, is true. However, this isn't the same thing, to me,
- as cars which appear to be safe but aren't (i.e. seatbelts that attach
- to the door. Door opens, person flies out). Anyway, my real question is
- re antilock brakes. I thought that they were supposed to IMPROVE safety
- by reducing skids (Consumer Reports recommends them highly). Is there data
- that shows that they actual DEGRADE safety (perhaps by failing to work,
- or not providing enough braking in some situations)??
