- I've been involved with Jeep's for twelve years and never heard of Henry's
- Machine Works. I suspect that they just sell other brands of axle kits.
- Never the less, it would be best to stick to the major brands:
-
- Currie Enterprises (714-528-6957)
- Dura Blue (714-632-6803)
- Mark Williams Enterprises (303-665-6901)
- Moser Engineering (219-726-6689)
- Strange Engineering (708-869-7010)
- Summers Brothers (800-221-7532)
-
-
- These are the Jeep AMC model 20 axle kits for the CJ-7 and CJ-5 that
- I'm familiar with:
-
- (1) Forged one piece axle kits:
-
- Moser Engineering, Dura Blue, and Summers Brothers
-
- These are okay for stock engines, but I have a small block Chevy (300hp)
- that twisted a pair of Dura Blue axles in six months of street use.
-
- (2) Full Floating Rear Axle Kit:
-
- Summers Brothers
-
- They do not recommend this for competition use, but they are SAE 4130 alloy
- with a 29 inside spline and a 30 tooth outside spline. I do not know of
- anyone with this kit.
-
- (3) Heavy Duty Dana 60 Rear Axle Kit:
-
- Summers Brothers
-
- This is what I replaced my model 20 with and strongly recommend if you are
- planning to develop any horse power. The axles are SAE 4340 and have a
- spline count of 35 :-) . If you consider replacing your axle, I would contact
- both Summers Brothers and Currie Enterprises and ask about the pro-and-cons
- of the Dana 60 and Ford 9".
