- Like other forms of "insurance", extended warranties are only offered because
- they are money-making ventures. A dealership or third party will not offer
- an extended warranty on your car unless they expect you to pay more for the
- warranty than it will cost them to fulfill the warranty (by a very comfortable
- margin).

- If you believe that an extended warranty from a third-party is necessary, why
- not consider yourself the third-party and and open up a savings account with
- the money you'd expect to pay for the warranty... If a problem occurs with
- the car (that would be covered under the extended warranty), use the cash
- you've salted away. Odds are that you'll never need to touch it.
