  11. Hello, all.

  13. I am considering buying an '81 VW Diesel Rabbit.  It's got about 150k miles.
  14. Asking price: $600.  
  15.  
  16. The car is owned buy a diesel mechanic and he has taken good care of it.
  17. Is there anything in particular that I should find out about it (like
  18. when the timing belt was replaced, etc.)?  Anything to look for when
  19. test driving?

  21. Also, I've never owned a diesel car before and I've heard about the fuel
  22. "gelling" when it gets really cold.  How can this be prevented? (Other than
  23. plugging the car in which is physically impossible at the apartment I live
  24. in).  I'm told mixing kerosene in the fuel can help. ???
