- Hello, all.
-
- I am considering buying an '81 VW Diesel Rabbit. It's got about 150k miles.
- Asking price: $600.
-
- The car is owned buy a diesel mechanic and he has taken good care of it.
- Is there anything in particular that I should find out about it (like
- when the timing belt was replaced, etc.)? Anything to look for when
- test driving?
-
- Also, I've never owned a diesel car before and I've heard about the fuel
- "gelling" when it gets really cold. How can this be prevented? (Other than
- plugging the car in which is physically impossible at the apartment I live
- in). I'm told mixing kerosene in the fuel can help. ???
-
- Thanks for your input.
