- Some recordings are made with a pre-emphasis curve (high frequency boost)
- which requires complementary de-emphasis on playback. That LED just
- indicates that you're playing such a CD and that the de-emphasis circuit
- has been engaged. Every CD player does it, but very few have indicator
- lights.
