- I take these reviews like I do coded secret messages that one would give
- to the police if a loved one had a gun pointed at their head.
-
- SR said pretty much the same thing about Paradigm Titan speakers. I decoded
- it to read "pretty damn amazing sound considering all the limitations a
- $100 speaker has". Substitute "$100 speaker" with DCC and you have my
- decoded review. Question is, even if it is "pretty damn amazing sound given
- all DCCs limitations, do you want to add the sound of $100 to your system?"
- If you are using $100 speakers, DCC is great. If you are using $20,000
- speakers then stick to records. Somewhere in between, then you have to
- listen for yourself to decide.
-
- "Really good" equipment gets compared to stuff costing 2 to 3 times the price
- to point out the "flaws" in the reviewed equipment. I read a review of a
- B&K tuner/preamp and they NEVER mentioned how it sounded, just raved about
- "how easy it was to use", etc. while the Acurus preamp they reviewed was
- compared to some really expensive stuff. Wannna guess which preamp they
- felt sounded better?
