- There are several manufacturers making 4-tracks: Tascam, Yamaha, Fostex,
- Vesta, Marantz, and others. And each manufacturer has numerous models
- in their line up. Tascam invented the portstudio with their 144, and
- I owned a 244 for many years with no problems. Yamaha also has some
- excellent models, though I have no direct expeience with their
- portastudios.
