- Inexpensive does not imply low quality. There are several brands
- which are praised, by the audiophile establishment, as being fairly
- inexpensive, and still very listenable. Many of the Rotel's, Adcom's, NAD,
- Denon's etc, I find to be an excellent value for inexpensive, high quality
- components. Sure, they may not have god-zillion features or watts, but IMHO,
- they sound much better to my ears than many of the "consumer" product lines.
-
- ( it depends on what you mean by "inexpensive" really. To some, $500
- total is very expensive, to some $500 on a pre-amp is inexpensive.
-
- For me, if I were to purchase a component today, I'ld be considering
- around $1000 for the amp, $1000-1500 for speakers, $400-500 for a CD player,
- etc...
