- Last week I sent three Tek8560 computers to Tek-RAMS (Recycle & Material
- Salvage) store. They were all marked as operational, production instruments,
- so they might make it to the viewing floor.
-
- All three 8560s have Tnix V2.1c (V7 Unix), an 8" floppy drive for ~1-Mbyte DSDD
- floppies, 2 printer ports, with my "task" program as a menu interface to Unix
- commands, tutorials, games, manuals, and a checkbook balancing program.
- I stuffed a Tnix manual and a couple 8" floppies in each unit.
- Great for someone who wants to learn Unix!
- Their 8" floppy drive is a major disadvantage, although you can connect via
- RS232 to a computer with a 5.25" floppy drive.
-
- Two units were 8562s with a DEC LSI-11/73 CPU, 1-Mbyte RAM, 40-Mbyte Micropolis
- 1304 fullheight harddrive, 8 tty/RS232 ports
- One unit was an 8561 with a DEC LSI-11/23 CPU, .5Mbyte RAM, 15-Mbyte Seagate
- ST419? fullheight harddrive, 4 tty/RS232 ports
-
- RAMS is located in building 02 on the Tek Beaverton campus just a few blocks
- north of TV highway. Take Hocken road (one block west of Cedar Hills Blvd.)
- north to the second Tek building on your left -- the one just past the
- railroad tracks. That should be building 02.
