  32.    Have you thought about buying your father PC/GEOS. It is an excellent
  33.    GUI that runs on any PC (IBM compatible) that has Hercules or at least
  34.    CGA.  They offer a free one month subscription to AmericaOnLine with a
  35.    very good tool that comes with the package. There were some stores in
  36.    Ottawa selling it for below $100.00. I bought one for my daughter and
  37.    upgraded to GEOS-Pro for additional $10.00. The package has a complete
  38.    set of applications (wordprocessor, object-oriented drawing package,
  39.    notebook, calendar, daytimer, terminal, AmericaOnLine tool, viewer to
  40.    Borland's Quatro-Pro SE that comes with GEOS-Pro, comprehensive
  41.    performace meter, some games, probably more) and has a launching
  42.    utility for DOS programs. The GUI is Motif compliant. There are three
  43.    interfaces for advanced, medium and novice users.

  45.    For anybody with an XT or AT/286 in basement: the computer + PC/GEOS
  46.    can be a very attractive Christmas present.
