- I have a set of snow tires that I'd want to sell. I just traded in my Honda
- Civic SI which I bought in June of last year. There was no way I was going
- to let them have my snow tires, so I kept them. Their size is 165-70R14,
- and they fit Honda Civic's quite nicely, and should fit many other cars
- with a similar "wheel plus tire" diameter.
-
- Hakka-Pelliita tires are made in Norway. Their quality lies in their rubber
- compound which does not freeze, and therefore keeps providing good
- traction even in very cold weather. They are made by Nokia (a large
- corporation that specializes in rubber and electronics). Mine are the
- Hakka-Pelliita 10 model, with a very agressive thread pattern. They were
- recommended for my SI (185-60SR14 is the summer radial size on them), and
- have done wonders. I paid $630 for the four tires almost exactly a year
- ago. Hakka's have, in the past, proved to be long lasting snow tires
- (remember, they rely on the fact that their compound does not freeze,
- whereas other companies use softer, and hence less durable, compounds for
- traction in the cold). I used them only for a short winter, and would be
- willing to let these go for $300 for all 4 (no tax).
-
- If you're interested, give me a call at home (685-1083, area code 819,
- local call from Ottawa/Hull area), or call me at work or email at the
- address/phone number in my signature.
-
- Regards,
-
- Daniel.
-
- By the way, it's unfortunate they won't fit my new car, cause I'm
- definitely going for another set of Hakka's.
