- with the question of "what are the risks of getting caught?"

- copyright violation doesn't cause anybody here to think, "out of respect for
- the creators of this information, perhaps we shouldn't be forwarding it?"

- I guess it is fortunate with this attitude that the penalties for getting
- caught are real. Event Horizons BBS, which sold subscriptions and had
- lots of GIFs scanned from Playboy was sued by Playboy. The report was they
- settled out of court for half a million dollars.

- I can't advise any site to carry any newsgroup that contains and indeed
- promotes significant traffic in pirated material.
