  15. I have an old leather hat I am cleaning up.  It was quite dirty and lots
  16. of mold on it.  I have scrubbed it clean with soap and water and as per
  17. usual it became quite wet and floppy.  I dried it out on a form so the
  18. leather has dried in the shape I want it.  I would now ilke to polish up
  19. the leather and make it as stiff as possible.  Is there anything out there
  20. ( wax, etc ) that can be used to recondition the surface of the leather to
  21. make it shine and smooth yet help keep the leather stiff ( so the brim
  22. looks like smooth shiny leather but is still stiff )?  Or is it that once 
  23. leather looses that new look it is lost forever?
