- my two-cents worth. The President can only pardon for federal offenses, except
- for any impeachment in which case s/he is powerless. In regards to the Bush
- Weinberger fiasco, it would be completely legal for Bush to pardon all those
- envolved, then resign, and then have the Quaylemeister pardon him. That would
- be a sneaky way out of the entire situation. However, even Quayle wouldn't be
- dumb enough to pardon Bush (it would end whatever political career he can
- save after this election).
- As for the last time a pardon was given, well thats hard to say, cause it
- happens more often then ppl think, but i know of other Presidential pardons
- since Tricky Dick was sprung in '74.
