  15. Congratulations; our last kid was born at Kaiser Santa Clara last
  16. March.  It's a good place, IMHO.

  18. The main tip, which applies to places other than Kaiser as well, is
  19. that it helps to know as much as possible about what kind of care you
  20. want/need/expect to need, both for yourself and for the baby.
  21. Recognize that the staff are busy, and don't count on them to
  22. instinctively know what needs doing -- TELL THEM, if you think you're
  23. having a problem.  (We noticed that Emmy was turning yellow before
  24. they did, for example, and had them do the bilirubin test.  Got her
  25. under the lights a couple of hours earlier than otherwise.)
