  12. Brendan got interested in the recent election, probably because it
  13. was on the news all the time, and his mom and I talked about it a
  14. lot and expressed rather strong opinions about the outcome we
  15. preferred. So everytime we were reading a newspaper or newsmagazine
  16. and came across a political cartoon, Brendan wanted us to read it to
  17. him, even though most of them are WAY over his head. But there was
  18. one cartoon that he liked, a split panel showing Bush in 1988 saying
  19. "Read my lips" and in 1992 saying "Read my resume". So now Brendan
  20. marches around the house saying "Read my lips! Read my resume!"
  21. I guess he's taken his first step toward an awareness of citizenship!
