- My son, also nine, is going through this same thing. We contribute it to
- the fact that maybe it's because he is at one of those in-between ages.
- (In -between a teen and a child that is).
-
- One of the things that we have tried with Norman (and it works relatively well)
- is to allow him some freedoms of his own. For instance, we bought him an alarm
- clock and he sets it to remind himself of things (like your 7:30 for example)
- we don't remind him all the time of what he needs to do - like take a bath.
- (Hey, if he gets dirty, he knows it and does something about it). We also
- allow him a lot of time to do his things (he makes the schedule) that before
- (younger) he wasn;t that interested in. When he gets angry, we just ignore
- it much of the time - usually its his way of blowing off steam anyway. If
- he says things that are particularly annoying though we will talk about it
- (or try to) - one of the things he does is not want to talk anymore, he wants
- to figure it out himself - all a part of the maturing process I should think.
-
- Hope this helps!!!
