- Well, this one is what worked for me. I learned early that everything
- had two names, one in french and one in english. 'Course, it didn't
- hurt that I ended up going to a french immersion school later, but by
- the time I made it there I already had a basic understanding of the
- language, decent pronunciation, AND could think in both languages. :)
- My dad didn't know french when all of this started, but he learned at
- the same time I did - it was probably a bit harder for him, I'm sure
- mum gave him some tutoring, but his french is almost as good as mine
- nowadays. 'Cept the accent :)

- Uh. Friend of mine was raised that way. She didn't like it. Apparently
- it made her feel like she was excluding her mom from her life when she
- talked in spanish to her dad. *shrug*
