- OK, so what about a baby like Melinda? She's *never* cried when
- I or my husband have left her anywhere (though she came close once
- when she was asleep when the hand off started). She is delightfully
- happy with the babysitter. Then she is absolutely delighted to be
- picked up by myself or my husband & actively seeks attention & interplay.
-
- I keep expecting her to develop seperation anxiety, I guess 5 1/2
- months is a bit early yet. But, she clearly recognizes different
- people & does respond differently. I never guessed they made babies
- like this.

- Well, Elise, I don't mean to rain on your parade,
- but this described Isabel exactly at 5-1/2 mos. (and
- 6, 7, and 8 mos. too!)
-
- Now, at 9-1/2 mos. she cries when I leave her, and
- cries *hysterically* when I pick her up (until I
- hold her).
-
- I posted on this recently, asking for suggestions.
- My other point then was mostly for myself: as soon
- as I begin to get complacent about my parenting
- (like, "look at what a secure child I have produced")
- Isabel enters a stage that makes me humble again.
-
- Hope Melinda never does this to you - it's pretty
- awful!
-
- But just in case - enjoy guilt-free daycare while
- it lasts :)
