- Yes, I can understand that you are scared about your upcoming birth experience
- considering you don't have a lot of support from that doctor. I had a c-seectio
- n the first time - 13 years ago - and I am going for VBAC. I am concerned about
- episiotomies too but my doctor told me not to even worry about that. We will se
- e when we get there but we will try without one first. If you do NOT lay down d
- uring birth but remain in a squatting position or on hands and knees your tailb
- one can move to its max and your perinium can stretch to its max. Massaging the
- perinium on top of that results in a high chance of not having an episiotomy
- (so I was told). I also was told by a nurse to start massaging the perinium
- around 6 weeks before the birth date with a little bit of VEGETABLE OIL....
- Also she said it is a good idea to not be wiped down with alcohol when the head
- crowns since it will remove all the natural moisture. Anyway...I also take in
- any good advice from a good nurse, doctor or friendly midwife. Good luck
- to you too! Jutta
