- Ok, as compiler of the above-mentioned FAQ, I want to confess - I have
- included in the FAQ strictly factual articles (what is X, what is Y) and
- have purposefully excluded articles on investment advice. One exception
- that I would gladly make is to include an article for exactly the question
- posed above: "I'm a beginner, I have X dollars, where do I start?"
-
- The general concensus that I have seen here seems to start with no-load
- mutual funds, long-haul thinking, and a recommended reading list.
-
- Would anyone like to write an article for the FAQ, say, max 100 lines,
- that could get a beginner on the road to sensible investing? (Note that
- I didn't say profitable :-) If a few people respond, I'll combine their
- articles somehow and we'll iterate until we get a good version.
-
- thanks.
