- Actually, the design was for a portable unit, although a desktop can
- also function equally well. The system allows for the recording and
- playback of phrases as spoken by native speakers. I have found that
- when I try to pronounce things in other languages I'm usually not quite
- correct in pronouncing. This thing was also designed to be a
- custom-made product. With a scanner and the right sound board, any set
- of questions in any set of languages can be loaded in. That's a lot of
- work, but the ready-made phrasebooks I've seen usually ask the questions
- someone else wants to ask, not what I want to ask. I can mail you a
- sample if you would like.
