- I hope you don"t mind me sticking my 2 cent in I knew to this
- conference. I hope fireman never get the right to give tickets. We are
- fireman we fight fires and try and teach people how to prevent fires we
- are not cops. I think it would be very unwise and unsafe for us to try
- and be a cop. I main toughts should be about getting our car or fire
- truck safely to the fire and not about pulling someone over because of
- there bad driving habits

- That's NY...In NJ every Volunteer Fire Company/Department MAY have Fire
- Police. They usually complete the NJ State Fire Police schooling or a
- NJSP-approved training course. Their job is to help get the fire
- equipment and personnel safely to the fire scene, protect the fire equip
- & personnel, and protecting the fire scene/investigating a fire. The
- cops don't need to be tied up at the fire scene and can preform their
- job, unless they are required at the fire. The NJSP training is very
- good and is required before a Fire Policeman can preform his duties on
- any state or county road. Bill Driver Fire Police EMT-A
