- PG>Ihave a question for everyone:
- PG> How common are Automatic aid pacts in your area?
- PG> How difficult were they to implement?
-
- Peter,
- We have several departments (volunteer) in my area who have an auto-
- matic mutual aid system for structure fires. My department has a mutual
- aid policy which allows the first rig in to determine the need for addi-
- tional personel and/or departments. I have over the last few years
- called for help from the surrounding departments, primarily during the
- day time hours when most of the crews are at full time occupations. We
- are a paid- on-call department and in many ways suffer the same problems
- as the all volunteer departments. Without the availabilty of mutual aid
- we would be in hurting shape.
