  14. -> permits for EVERYTHING in California), and have no dealers to supply
  15. -> me within 300 miles (at least...I'm not sure what's available in
  16. -> Los Angeles or San Francisco).  Our instructor gave us a photocopy
  17. -> of the Gall's catalog page with Mace on them, and told us to order
  18. -> from there.  When I called today, they informed me that new policy
  19. -> dictates that they won't sell to California (and a few other states
  20. -> where permits are required).  Argh..  I offered to photocopy and
  21. -> fax my permit, but they said no.  So I called the manufacturer in
  22. -> Vermont (Mark Sport, Inc), and they said they'd sell me the stuff,
  23. -> but for $17.99 per can (Gall's had it for $10.99/can).  Why is
  24. -> the manufacturer charging me MORE than a distributor?  They wouldn't
  25. -> give me any names of California dealers either.  Ugg...
