- JSP>I am a physician assistant doing graduate work in Emergency
- Medicine. My
- JSP>research thesis is on computer literacy and use among Emergency
- Department
- JSP>physicians and physician assistants.
-
- JSP>After a literature search I am unable to find any citations that
- detail
- JSP>actual computer literacy rates among this group, or among docs in
- general.
-
- Did you check in with the MedLars people at National Library
- Of Medicine? I would think they should have some of that stuff if only
- for their planning purposes. Another possibility would be check in
- with
- the national organizations for the Med Schools. That might give you a
- general idea of what the baseline is in Med Schools. Did you ask
- American College of Emergency Physicians if they have a computer
- committee that might be addressing that issue? Go back into the
- computer and find out who are the 4-5 docs that are writing the most.
- If
- they are that interested, they might have information or at least may
- be
- able to give you some educated gueses.
- You may find that "educated guesses" are the best you can do.
