- OSHA regulations make no distinction whether you get paid for performing
- a job or not. In other words, their regs apply equally to volunteer and
- career EMTs and firefighters -- they are all 'employees' for regulatory
- purposes.

- FYI, some key regulations relating to both are the new (and much
- discussed) bloodborn pathogens regs (29 CFR 1910.1030), the key regs
- regarding hazardous materials (HazComm, 29 CFR 1910.1200 & HazWOpER, 29
- CFR 1910.120), and the basic fire brigade standards (29 CFR 1910.156).
