  12. OSHA regulations make no distinction whether you get paid for performing
  13. a job or not.  In other words, their regs apply equally to volunteer and
  14. career EMTs and firefighters -- they are all 'employees' for regulatory
  15. purposes.

  17. FYI, some key regulations relating to both are the new (and much
  18. discussed) bloodborn pathogens regs (29 CFR 1910.1030), the key regs
  19. regarding hazardous materials (HazComm, 29 CFR 1910.1200 & HazWOpER, 29
  20. CFR 1910.120), and the basic fire brigade standards (29 CFR 1910.156).
