- Recently my ATM card stopped working, and I went down to the
- local branch of MULTI-MEGOLITHIC BANKING :-) and requested a
- new card - they verified that the mag stripe was zapped (can't
- figure how that happened - wasn't using an eelskin wallet (see
- misc.urban.legends or whatever)).
-
- Anyway, while I was there, I requested a SECOND atm card since
- sometimes I manage to get away from the house without it - and
- since I'm a heavy ATM user I'd like to keep one in my briefcase
- (shouldn't be a problem since you have to know the PIN in order
- to use it).
-
- At any rate, they REFUSED to give me a second atm card - now why should
- this bother them? I told 'em that they could even put different PIN
- numbers on 'em (although I'd prefer not to do this). I suppose that
- I could have insisted, since I have both a checking and MM account tied
- to the same card (two accounts - two cards). However, to take the path
- of least resistance, I ordered a replacement thru the branch office, and
- then went home and called MULTI-MEGALITHIC's 800 number and ordered a
- replacement that way, too.
-
- I'd be curious to hear from anyone who has encountered something similar.
- Were you able to get multiple ATM cards? Or did your bank
- refuse also?
-
- THANKS
