- I ran into the same problem once when I got caught in the
- rain.

- I was told at the local post office (which has been quite
- reliable) that they do not exchange stamps. (Unlike the
- Treasury, which does exchange damanged money). They suggested
- either soaking or freezing. I tried soaking in warm water. If
- you're patient, they eventually come apart. I eventually glued
- all of them onto letters and mailed them, even a few which were
- slightly damanged, and all were accepted by the U.S.P.S.
