- ** Written 10:33 pm Nov 17, 1992 by terrasol in cdp:justice.usa **
- Two Seattle men has been charged with conspiracy and filing false
- documents to enable Salvadoran refugees to remain in the U.S.
- Miguel Orozco-Delgado and Oscar Uceda-Carcamo worked for agencies
- which provided refugees with social and legal services. They face
- up to five years in prison and $250,000 in fines for each of up to seven
- counts.
-
- The Committee for Justice for Orozco and Carcamo (CJOC) feel that
- there is indeed a conspiracy. "It is a conspiracy of the
- Administration and the Immigration and Naturalization Service to
- further its cruel, unjust and racist policies, by harassing and
- intimidating the victims of war and terror in the Caribbean and
- Central America. It is a conspiracy to divert attention from the
- unemployment, homelessness and economic distress within the U.S.
- by victimizing those who flee tyranny abroad."
-
- Trial is set for Nov. 30th., 1992
-
- Can you help? The CJOC needs money for attorneys, Committee endorsers,
- evidence of other INS abuses around the country and letters of protest to:
