  26. SUPPORT THE U.S.-CUBA FRIENDSHIPMENT CARAVAN!

  30. On Friday, November 20, the U.S.-Cuba Friendshipment Caravan will
  31. cross the border into Mexico.  The Caravan will travel through over
  32. 90 cities on 9 routes, collecting food, medicine, bicycles and
  33. other humanitarian aid for Cuba, before converging in Laredo,
  34. Texas. From there it will go to the Mexican port of Tampico, where
  35. it will load the goods onto a Cuban freighter.

  37. The Caravan, initiated by the Pastors for Peace and supported by
  38. many other individuals and organizations, is an historic challenge
  39. to three decades of an illegal and immoral U.S. blockade of a small
  40. nation.  The Blockade has recently been tightened by passage of the
  41. Torricelli bill, supported by both Bush and Clinton.

  43. It is crucial that we show our support for this courageous people-
  44. to-people effort.  Its success will depend on a strong public
  45. showing of our belief in its goals.  On November 20, the day the
  46. Caravan is scheduled to cross the border, there will be support
  47. demonstrations in many cities.  The San Francisco demonstration
  48. will be at the U.S. Treasury office, the department which often
  49. enforces the blockade.
