- I just got off the phone with somebody on the Pastors for Peace
- FriendShipment to Cuba, which is attempting to deliver medical supplies,
- bicycles and bibles to that country, in defiance of the U.S. blockade
- against Cuba. The U.S. government has threatened to arrest the people
- on the caravan. The caravan will be heading into Texas tomorrow
- (Monday), and intends to cross the border into Mexico later this week.
- But the Foreign Assets Control Office has recently stated that they
- won't let them cross into Mexico, and if they attempt to, they will
- likely confiscate the trucks containing the humanitarian aid and bibles.
- I also heard that the Federal government notified the local and state
- police in Texas, because they want to arrest them in a place where the
- media won't be able to cover it.
-
- So, PLEASE CALL THE FOREIGN ASSETS CONTROL OFFICE:
-
- >>> Richard Newcome at 202-622-2510 <<<
-
- Tell him to allow the FriendShipment caravan with the medical
- supplies through to Cuba.
-
- Also, call your Senators and sympathetic Representatives and ask them
- to put pressure on Costums and Immigration to let the carvan through!
-
-
- [How ironic that our government, which accuses the Cuban government of
- not allowing the freedom of religion, won't allow the Pastors for Peace
- deliver bibles!]
