- I was at West LA yesterday, and saw the notice about the new fees, and
- I also got a flier form the Instructional TV center, which uses the
- same fee structure. The new fees are $10/unit if you don't have a
- bachelor's (or higher), $50/unit if you do have a bachelor's or higher,
- and $123/unit if you are a non-resident of CA. In the past, there was
- a maximum fee you would pay for 10 units or more. THERE IS NO LONGER A
- MAXIMUM FEE. If you do not have a resident without a bachlor's and you
- enroll in 12 units, you will pay $120. A student with a bachelor's
- enrolling in the same number of units will pay $600!
-
- Students in the LA Community College System (West, Southwest, Harbor, Trade
- Tech, City, Mission, Valley, Pierce) will also have to pay a mandatory $7.50
- health insurance fee. I know students at other JCs (El Camino) are already
- paying this. The information that I got gave no criteria for a waiver,
- other than financial hardship.
