- In town where the roads are lighted anyway, they are probabily redundant, but
- out in the country where the only light is from headlights, the reflectors
- are handy. I hated them when they first put them on some of the roads in
- east Tennessee where I grew up until one night when I needed to get someplace
- in a big hurry. I found out that I could drive a lot faster because my
- effective vision (ie knowing about curves in advance) was doubled+.
- For this reason I rearned to accept the scaring "twhakk" of my tires hitting
- one.
