  22.    Yes!!  Thank you!!  I've been thinking the same thing for a long time
  23.    and am glad to see someone else agree!

  25.    Just a little side note - When Bud-dy Boy was running for Congress the
  26.    first time, he was asked about his position on SDI (Star Wars for those
  27.    of you from the liberal side), and can anyone guess what wonderful
  28.    answer he gave in reply?

  30.    "It will provide jobs for the district, so I am for it."

  32.    Not, "It may save lives on the battle field;  It is important to maintain
  33.    our technological edge on our enemies".  No; none of these reasons, just
  34.    the standard, "I'll bring home the pork!".  Now, I would rather send a 
  35.    person to Congress that would only vote for "programs" that were in some
  36.    way rational, than someone who would vote for "anything" just because it
  37.    brought home some of my tax money to my district.  If it means that he
  38.    angers fellow *law-makers* and they do not vote for any bill he
  39.    sponsors, then that is a risk I am willing to take, because we will
  40.    eventually have to draw the spending line somewhere or risk creating
  41.    a debt that can never be paid.
